  • Hatha yoga is a traditional style of yoga that focuses on the physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama) to achieve balance between the body and mind.
  • The term "Hatha" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon. The practice of Hatha yoga aims to create a balance between the opposing forces of the sun (symbolizing activity, energy) and the moon (symbolizing receptivity, calmness).

  • Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic and physically demanding style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures and linking breath to movement.
  • It was popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and the system is often referred to as the "Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
  • Ashtanga Yoga emphasizes the concept of Tristhana, which involves the synchronization of three key elements during the practice: the breath (Ujjayi Pranayama), specific gazing points (Drishti), and body movement (Asanas). This trifold focus helps practitioners develop concentration and inner awareness.
  • Ashtanga Yoga offers a structured path for those seeking a disciplined and challenging practice. If you're drawn to a methodical and transformative yoga experience, exploring Ashtanga might be the perfect step for you.
  • Ashtanga Yoga requires commitment and regular practice. The discipline involved is seen as a transformative process, both physically and mentally.Ashtanga has a set sequence of postures, with the Primary Series being the foundation.

  • Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga. The term "pranayama" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "prana," meaning life force or vital energy, and "ayama," meaning extension or expansion.
  • Pranayama involves awareness and control of the breath. It goes beyond the automatic and unconscious act of breathing, bringing attention to the inhalation, exhalation, and the pauses in between.

  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic and fluid style of yoga that synchronizes breath with movement. It offers a creative and often playful approach to the practice, allowing for a diverse range of poses and sequences.Vinyasa, in its essence, means linking breath with movement.
  • Unlike Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow does not follow a fixed sequence. Teachers have the freedom to create unique and varied sequences, making each class different and engaging.
  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga offers a dynamic and accessible approach to yoga, making it a popular choice for those who enjoy variety and creative expression in their practice. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner, Vinyasa Flow can be adapted to suit your individual needs and preferences.

  • Meditation is a practice that involves focusing the mind and eliminating distractions to achieve a state of mental clarity, relaxation, and heightened awareness.
  • It has been an integral part of various spiritual and contemplative traditions for centuries, and today, it is widely practiced for its numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

  • Shatkriya, often spelled as Shatkarma or Shatkriya, refers to a set of six purification practices in traditional Hatha Yoga.
  • These practices are intended to purify the body and mind by removing impurities, balancing the doshas (bioenergetic forces), and preparing the practitioner for deeper yogic practices.

  • Yoga Nidra, often referred to as "yogic sleep," is a form of guided meditation and deep relaxation that induces a state of conscious, relaxed awareness.
  • The goal is to reach a state between wakefulness and sleep, allowing for profound relaxation and mental clarity.
