One Week Yoga Courses for Beginners in Rishikesh, India

We therefore teach asana in a manner that moves towards correct alignment and natural progression.

Day 1 – Introduction to yoga asana or posture. Students are familiarised with the name of the asana, how to perform it and what doing it achieves. Similarly the concept of pranayama is introduced.

Day 2- Various standing asana or postures are introduced and details are given about the effect each of them has on body and mind.

Day 3- Here again you will learn about standing positions of yoga with instructions on how to do them. The difference is that on the third day you will learn standing yoga along with spine twisting postures, so the spine also gets a work out and can open up.

Day 4 – Now you will be taught how to perfect the standing and spine twisting postures along with more intensive sitting asana. You will also be provided support props as the asana could take on a difficult stance.

Day 5 – You will continue with the standing positions, along with spine twisting postures but will also be taught inversion postures which you will do with the help of props. You will be taught how to use the props to get your alignment right and how the props can support the specific yoga asana.

Day 6 – On this day you will learn back bending postures with the help of a rope. You will learn how to bend the body backwards with the rope for support.

End of Day - After each day of asana classes there will be a discussion about the asana practice. There will also be a class for pranayama so you can learn it correctly.

On alternative days you will learn yoga philosophy and also have discussions on the same.
